Getting help with Piggy

Your budget is never stored on a server, so nobody but you can see or recover it. Most answers below come from that one fact.

Piggy is made by one person. I read everything and usually answer within a few days. A screenshot of what you are looking at helps more than a description of it.

Common questions

Where is my budget stored?

Only on your phone. There is no account on a server and no bank connection, which also means I cannot see your data or recover it for you.

How do I keep a backup, or move to a new phone?

Open Settings › Your data › Export a copy and save the file somewhere safe, such as iCloud Drive. On the new phone, install Piggy and use Settings › Your data › Choose a file to restore it. Export regularly: if Piggy is deleted, its data goes with it.

I forgot my password.

On the login screen tap Forgot password?. Piggy asks you to confirm it is you with Face ID or your phone's passcode, then lets you set a new password. This only works if your phone has a passcode or Face ID set up.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings › Your data › Delete this account. You type your email to confirm, and the account and everything in it are removed from the phone. There is no undo, so export a copy first if you might want it back.

What does Piggy send, and can I turn it off?

Anonymous event names, such as "a bag was made", with a random id, your app version and phone model. Never amounts, bag names, notes or your email. Turn it off in Settings › Privacy › Usage counts. The full details are in the privacy policy.

Is Piggy free?

Free during the beta, with every feature unlocked. Later some features become paid, but nothing you made is taken away.

Something is broken or confusing.

Please tell me. Email with a screenshot, or if you are testing through TestFlight, take a screenshot inside Piggy and choose Share Beta Feedback.
